Are my files being backed up? How?

Where should I put all my files?
Generally speaking, any data that have any value to the University (that is, any data that would cause problems if lost) should be placed in an appropriate location on your department's file share. Normally this means the H:, R: or S: drives on your desktop.

I get a lot of spam. Is there anything I can do?
Yes. The Office of Information Technology maintains a spam filtering system called "Spam Assassin" that is available to anyone with a bu.edu address. For more information, visit the PCSC's Spam Management page .

How can I check my email when I'm not at work?
For users attached to the university Microsoft Exchange cluster (this includes most administrative staff), Outlook Web Access (OWA) provides online access to your mailbox when away from your workstation.
